This was an absolute banger of a trip. I got the opportunity to fish out east and work aboard the Wolfpack out of Montauk, and it was an unforgettable experience. We left the dock around 9 a.m. for a double overnight and made a 200-mile run east to some beautiful Gulf Stream water. Hopes were high, but that area didn’t produce, so overnight we steamed another 100 miles to a different canyon—and that move paid off. We found incredible fishing all day, finishing with more than 30 yellowfin up to 90 pounds, going 3-for-6 on bigeyes and 3-for-4 on giant bluefin. Every fish was sold to the market afterward. What an awesome experience and a trip I’ll never forget!
